YEASHIN
Yeashin was
chosen by Fashion Scout as one of the “Ones to Watch” designers for this S/S 14
London Fashion Week. Yeashin launched her brand in 2012. She is a London College of Fashion
graduate and was born and raised in South Korea until she decided to move to
London and base her brand here.
The collection at Freemason’s Hall was very otherworldly. Almost like something
out of a fictional book. The models looked like dolls with their plaited hair
and flushed pink cheeks. Smock type dresses were the main feature, each in
beautiful pastel colours; such as mint greens, dusky pinks, sky blues and
golden yellows. Some of the models were also wearing sailor boy hats with a
lace overlay.
Overall this kitch collection gave a very sweet, innocent like impression. It reminded me of the contents of a very glamorous dressing up box. Lilly Cole or Karen Elson would look fabulous in this collection on a Tim Walker style shoot.
I was lucky
enough to briefly interview Yeashin after the show, as you can see I had to be quick.
What is your
concept?
Countryside
theme, where they are having a garden party. They eat lunch, they’re just
talking and enjoying their time there.
Which is
your favourite piece from this collection and why?
The last one,
with embroidered flowers.
Which
designers influence you?
Miu Miu
