FYODOR GOLAN

Our first show at London fashion week SS2014 was the Fyodor Golan, and it certainly lived up to our expectations. Fyodor Golan is a label made up of the two designers Fyodor Podgorny and Golan Frydman. Fyodor is from Latvia whilst Golan is Israeli, and they both met in London where they launched their brand. Fyodor and Golan say they use their different backgrounds to their advantage, exploring their differences rather than their similarities, they say that they look for “purity in shape/form and integrity in texture/detail, using these elements to create their signature”. There was a definite 80s theme in this collection with the big bold sweat shirt tops and little flirty skirts, even the classic 80s smiley face badges adorned separates as fringing decoration. Painting has also been a key medium creating wonderful confident prints. Clever emphasis on fabric manipulation, shapes and structure on the body finished this flattering and covetable collection.
Vibrant colours saturated the SS14 collection- so their interest in painting was certainly evident. There was also rainbow dipped ostrich feather pieces and snake print finishes. The clothes were designed so beautifully, and the shapes were exquisite, they were all flattering to the figure and excellent for the day or statement evening dressing up, perfect for Ibiza ! This collection was hot hot hot !!  bring on the Summer again please !

What a brilliant colourful collection! we could wear it all.
With thanks to Trace Publicity for inviting fashiontent and STATUS magazine to the show.
