It was a real Pleasure to have Ivan on my Art Direction for Fashion short course at CSM online.
An already experienced art director for Zalando Ivan wanted to explore his own art directorial style further and develop his own unique vision.
Exploring images that had an emotional resonance to him Ivan created his fashion story based on references to a time that meant something to him personally. Magnetic images in a fashion story line has been created and presented here to a high industry standard inorder to communicate his idea clearly with sophicated visual literacy.
I loved the mirroring idea he has developed with his images, thinking in spacial detail about how his images will appear on the page for publication. This is an important part of an art directors role and Ivan has shown his deeper understanding of the impact this can have on maximising the beauty of the images on the page of a hard copy magazine as well as on a web site.
I hope that this theory can be made a visual reality - the preproduction planning is ready !
