White is the key colour to wear in the sunny climes of St Tropez, it was everywhere, and of course this makes sense as white does reflect light and keep you cooler!

An Alexander McQueen scarf worn with this Boho silk top, great worn with white trousers.

St Tropez the birth place of brigit Bardot, and uber cool summer hang out location for the rich and famous has always been a good barometer for summer fashion trends.

Boho is back for summer fashion in St Tropez. The shops in St Tropez were brimming with this easy to wear look. Instead of a Sienna Miller style floppy hat though a cool panama style is the look to wear - keeps you free from the hot summer sun and looks great, or a scalf tied elegantly on your head gypsy style is a cool look seen everywhere here even on les Enfant.
St Tropez is where karl Lagerfeld has his holiday home and was recently spotted here photographing his Chanel summer collection in the Yacht filled glamourous centre of town. St tropez though small has every top end designer label either to be found in their own stores like Diane Von Furstenberg or in the small Boutiques placed cheek by jowl in the narrow lanes that make up the character filled centre of town.

Mike Vensel A/W 2010-11 brand image

The above is the finished shoot and was completed by Mike himself in London. Not only does he design his clothes and oversee production and sales he is also a talented photographer and takes the photographs for his brand.

Mike Vensel Concept - Steven Meisel studio 54 inspired shoot

I would like to introduce you to Mike Vensel's label. Mike attended my Art direction course in April.

Based now in LA Mike originally trained as a graphic designer and in true American entrepreneurial style has also turned his hand to study fashion design. Greatly influenced by architecture in his work he has created 4 collections to date, each season has developed a new edge of style from the last leading to this A/W 2010 -11 which has a sexy, simple, body classic look reminiscent of and influenced by the 1970's iconic socialite designer then based in New York and frequenter of studio 54 - Halston.

During the course we look at editorial fashion shoots and what makes them work as a collection of images that tell a fashion story or sell a trend.

The Steven Meisel shoot -' I feel Love' below was one such shoot we examined -

The model is Natalia Vodianova Portman.

Mike really liked this idea and developed his brand promotion around this concept.
